Aug. 15, 2014 – Former Mexican police officer arrested in Denver area as a suspect in aggravated homicide in Mexico in 2000

A former Mexican police officer, who is wanted by Mexican authorities for an aggravated homicide in January 2000, was arrested Aug. 12 by officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). Full Story

Aug. 15, 2014 – HSI, Dominican authorities dismantle human trafficking ring

A joint law enforcement operation between ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Dominican National Police and other Dominican law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of eight human traffickers and the rescue of 25 human trafficking victims Aug. 13. Full Story

Pharmacies and Narcotic Treatment Programs Settle with U.S. Government -Agree to Pay $1 Million
AUG 15 (PIKEVILLE, KY.)
Kerry B. Harvey, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and James V. Allen, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), jointly announced today that the federal government has reached settlements, worth more than $1 million, with multiple Eastern Kentucky narcotic treatment programs and two pharmacies, to settle allegations that they failed to maintain accurate records of the controlled substances under their control.
