    A Sudanese national convicted in 1995 with nine others as part of the largest terrorism trial at the time was deported late Wednesday by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) and handed over to his home country’s authorities. Full Story

    A 48-year-old Canadian citizen convicted in the United States for his involvement in the illegal sale of military materials to Iran was removed from the U.S. Tuesday by ERO officers in Newark, New Jersey.Full Story

    Colorado man sentenced to more than 8 years in federal prison for possessing child pornography
    Following his prison sentence, Kevin Dale Harlow, 55, of Thornton, Colorado, was also ordered to serve 10 years on supervised release and register as a sex offender. Harlow, a member of a Lutheran Church leading a 6th grade boys’ confirmation class, possessed 3,257 unique child pornography images and 316 unique child pornography videos.

    North Dakota man sentenced to 16 years in prison for possessing, distributing child pornography
    Devon Cole Reed, 27, of Fargo, was sentenced July 9 before U. S. District Judge Ralph R. Erickson to 16 years in prison, to be followed by a lifetime of supervised release. Reed was sentenced on two counts of receiving and distributing child pornography, and three counts of possessing child pornography. Judge Erickson also sentenced Reed to pay $3,000 in restitution to the victims.

    Michael J. Todd, 65, of Panama, Kenneth Laudgaard, 46, of Minnesota and James Robert Shipman Jr., 64, of Florida, used private jets and off-shore bank accounts in Panama to launder cash for an undercover FBI agent who posed as a corrupt stock promoter.

    Kamel Lambus, 32, Stanley Fuller, 40, Covel Duncan, 30, Shavona Trappier, 25, Shakeem Powell, 26, Tyran Trotter, 20, Henry Curry, 26, Sean Brabram, 46, Tiheem Crocker, 20, Scott Williams, 30, Earl Davis, 50, Michael Scott, 45, and Andre Mitchell, 28, all from Queens, New York and others, allegedly conspired to distribute over a kilogram of heroin.

    ICE deports Belgian man convicted in Chicago of attempting to illegally export controlled nuclear non-proliferation items ultimately destined for Iran
    Nicholas Kaiga, 37, of Brussels, Belgium, pleaded guilty in December 2014 in the Northern District of Illinois to attempting to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA); he was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison.

    Former Bosnian prison guard extradited to Bosnia-Herzegovina for war crimes trial
    Almaz Nezirovic, 54, formerly of Roanoke, Virginia, was extradited July 1 to Bosnia, where he is accused of perpetrating torture and inhumane treatment against Serbian civilians detained at the Rabic Prison Camp in Derventa Municipality. He was charged in Bosnia with committing war crimes against civilians between April and July 1992 during the Bosnian War.

    Dallas man pleads guilty to child sex trafficking
    Trenton McLemore, 29, faces a statutory maximum penalty of not less than 10 years and up to life in federal prison, and a $250,000 fine. However, if the Court accepts the plea agreement, the appropriate term of imprisonment in this case is 252 months (21 years) in federal prison.

    ICE removes MS-13 gang member wanted in El Salvador for extortion
    According to Salvadoran police reports, on May 19, 2011, Jose Genaro Mendez Mendez and his MS-13 associates allegedly threatened to kill a man if he failed to pay $4,000 in U.S. currency. Mendez Mendez allegedly collected $1,500 in U.S. currency and immediately fled the scene with his associates.

    Corrections Officer and Members and Associates of a Queens-Based Sect of the Bloods Gang Arrested

    JUL 08 (NEW YORK)

    Earlier today, a total of 12 members and associates of the Bloods street gang located in Queens, New York, including Covel Duncan, a New York State Corrections Officer at Riker’s Island, were arrested on narcotics trafficking charges. The defendants’ initial appearances are scheduled this afternoon before United States Magistrate Judge James Orenstein at the federal courthouse in Brooklyn.
