March 11, 2015 – ICE seeks public’s help to identify ‘John Doe’ child predator

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) sought the public’s help to identify a man captured on video sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl. Full Story

HSI arrested a suspected child predator March 12 in Raleigh after a tip from the public led to his identification. Full Story

March 9, 2015 – 2,059 convicted criminals arrested in ICE nationwide operation

A five-day nationwide operation targeting convicted criminal aliens subject to removal from the United States yielded the arrest of 2,059 convicted criminals. The operation was led by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). Full Story

March 11, 2015 – ICE seeks public's help to identify additional victims in child exploitation case

Special agents with HSI are seeking the public’s help to identify possible additional victims in an ongoing child sexual exploitation probe involving an employee at a local gym. Full Story

March 11, 2015 – Operation Foxhound nets 47 arrests for drug trafficking, firearms violations, money laundering

During an operation dubbed Foxhound, ICE HSI special agents, working jointly with other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, conducted simultaneous takedowns Wednesday in the municipalities of Manati, Barceloneta and Florida, as well as in New York, Florida and Connecticut. The operation resulted in the arrest of 47 individuals for their alleged participation in a drug trafficking, illegal firearms and money laundering conspiracy. Full Story

Captain of Genovese Crime Family Pleads Guilty to Racketeering

MAR 13 (MANHATTAN, N.Y.)

Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced today the guilty plea of Daniel Pagano, a Captain of the Genovese Organized Crime Family of La Cosa Nostra (the "Genovese Crime Family"). Pagano pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams to participating in a racketeering conspiracy. As part of his plea, PAGANO admitted to being a leader of the criminal enterprise. Pagano is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Abrams on July 10, 2015.

Statement By Secretary Jeh C. Johnson On The Seizure Of Six Tons Of Marijuana

March 16, 2015 —I congratulate U.S. Customs and Border Protection on the seizure on March 11 of over six tons of marijuana, worth an estimated $6.2 million, hidden in a truck attempting to cross from Mexico into the United States at the Nogales, Ariz. port of entry. Colombian drug trafficking organization dismantled, 13 arrested
In addition to the 13 arrests, 10 kilograms of cocaine were seized. It is alleged that this DTO annually distributed about two to three tons of cocaine. To date, 16 individuals have been arrested and 688 kilograms (1,517 pounds) of cocaine have been seized.

Wei Zhang, aka David Liteng, 35, of Tianjin, China, also pleaded guilty to two counts of aiding and abetting the importation of controlled substances and cathinones, also known as “bath salts.” He faces a maximum penalty of 60 years in federal prison.

HSI special agents arrested Gabriel Rodriguez-Pacheco, 30, of Yauco, for allegedly persuading, enticing and coercing two female minors, 16 and 17 years of age, to engage in sexually explicit conduct, namely the lascivious exhibition of their genital areas, for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct.

William Akers, 46, is in federal custody facing child pornography charges following a public outreach campaign by HSI to identify a previously unknown man captured on video sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl. The plea for public assistance was disseminated by dozens of media outlets, reached more than 1.6 million people on Facebook and Twitter and generated more than 80 leads to the HSI tip line.

Rasmieh Yousef Odeh, 67, a Chicago-area resident was found guilty Nov. 10, 2014, following a five-day jury trial, of procuring her U.S. citizenship unlawfully. As part of her sentence, Odeh’s citizenship was revoked and she was ordered removed to Jordan.

According to the indictment, Jermaine McClary, 39, possessed and intended to distribute heroin and cocaine. It is also alleged that he possessed a .38 caliber revolver in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possessed both that gun and a .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol as a convicted felon.

Louisiana man sentenced to 6 years for child pornography possession
Tommie J. Beason, 37, of Franklin, previously admitted during his guilty plea in October 2014 that he downloaded 230 images and 88 videos of hardcore child pornography. The files included prepubescent child pornography and also sadistic content. HSI and state investigators seized the child pornography in June 2014 after executing a search warrant of Beason’s home subsequent to detecting the trade of illegal images via his Internet connection.
