March 9, 2015 – 2,059 convicted criminals arrested in ICE nationwide operation

March 11, 2015 – Operation Foxhound nets 47 arrests for drug trafficking, firearms violations, money laundering
During an operation dubbed Foxhound, ICE HSI special agents, working jointly with other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, conducted simultaneous takedowns Wednesday in the municipalities of Manati, Barceloneta and Florida, as well as in New York, Florida and Connecticut. The operation resulted in the arrest of 47 individuals for their alleged participation in a drug trafficking, illegal firearms and money laundering conspiracy. Full Story

Captain of Genovese Crime Family Pleads Guilty to Racketeering
MAR 13 (MANHATTAN, N.Y.)
Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced today the guilty plea of Daniel Pagano, a Captain of the Genovese Organized Crime Family of La Cosa Nostra (the "Genovese Crime Family"). Pagano pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Ronnie Abrams to participating in a racketeering conspiracy. As part of his plea, PAGANO admitted to being a leader of the criminal enterprise. Pagano is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Abrams on July 10, 2015.

March 16, 2015 —I congratulate U.S. Customs and Border Protection on the seizure on March 11 of over six tons of marijuana, worth an estimated $6.2 million, hidden in a truck attempting to cross from Mexico into the United States at the Nogales, Ariz. port of entry. We believe this is the third largest seizure of any illegal controlled substance in history at any Arizona point of entry. This highlights the good work our men and women do every day to secure our borders.

William Akers, 46, is in federal custody facing child pornography charges following a public outreach campaign by HSI to identify a previously unknown man captured on video sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl. The plea for public assistance was disseminated by dozens of media outlets, reached more than 1.6 million people on Facebook and Twitter and generated more than 80 leads to the HSI tip line.

According to the indictment, Jermaine McClary, 39, possessed and intended to distribute heroin and cocaine. It is also alleged that he possessed a .38 caliber revolver in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possessed both that gun and a .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol as a convicted felon.

Louisiana man sentenced to 6 years for child pornography possession
Tommie J. Beason, 37, of Franklin, previously admitted during his guilty plea in October 2014 that he downloaded 230 images and 88 videos of hardcore child pornography. The files included prepubescent child pornography and also sadistic content. HSI and state investigators seized the child pornography in June 2014 after executing a search warrant of Beason’s home subsequent to detecting the trade of illegal images via his Internet connection.
