May 1, 2014 – HSI arrests 638 gang members during month-long operation
More than 600 gang members and associates from 145 different gangs were arrested in 179 cities across the U.S. during Project Southbound, a month-long operation executed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), which targeted gangs affiliated with the Sureños. April 30, 2014 – Salvadoran man wanted for aggravated homicide in El Salvador removed
A Salvadoran national wanted in El Salvador for aggravated homicide was deported by officers from ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Washington, and turned over to the El Salvador Policía Nacional Civil at the San Salvador international airport. Full Story

April 30, 2014 – Canadian, US authorities shutter $30 million cross-border smuggling ring
Twenty-five individuals allegedly involved in a $30 million cross-border tobacco smuggling operation were arrested April 30 following an investigation by Canadian authorities and HSI. Full Story

A two-day international operation targeting organized crime networks behind child exploitation 'sextortion' cases arrested 58, including three men linked to the group which harassed a Scottish teenager. Full Story

April 29, 2014 – Operation Root Canal nets 35 arrests for drug trafficking, possession of illegal firearms
Thirty-five alleged members of a drug trafficking organization were arrested April 29 as a result of a law enforcement operation dubbed "Root Canal," a joint investigation led by HSI. Full Story
