May 21, 2014 – HSI New York announces arrest of 71 individuals for sexual exploitation crimes against children in 'Operation Caireen'
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) announced May 21 the arrest of 71 individuals for crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children in Operation Caireen, the largest-ever enforcement operation in New York targeting predators who possess, produce or distribute sexually explicit images of children. May 21, 2014 – Cyber-financial fraud investigation nets numerous arrests in South Africa, Canada, US
Twenty individuals, including 11 in South Africa, were arrested May 20 on charges stemming from cyber, mass-marketing fraud schemes during a joint operation between HSI, South African authorities and Interpol. Full Story
May 22, 2014 – HSI seizes counterfeit items worth over $30 million from Massachusetts flea markets
HSI, in coordination with the Lawrence Police Department, seized approximately three tractor trailers worth of counterfeit items between two flea markets with a retail value of approximately $30 million. Full Story

A former teacher and athletic coach at Royal Oak Middle School in Covina, California, who pleaded guilty to producing child pornography and using the Internet to entice a minor to engage in sex, was sentenced May 19 to 23 1/2 years in federal prison. Full Story
May 19, 2014 – HSI extends job offers to 15 graduates of 'HERO' internship

Caribbean Border Interagency Group Authorities Seize $37 Million Worth of Cocaine in the Caribbean Sea
MAY 06 (SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO)
U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Puerto Rico Police seized nearly 1,280 kilograms of cocaine, with an estimated wholesale value of $37 million, and apprehended two Dominican Republic nationals during an at-sea interdiction in the Caribbean Sea Wednesday, announced United States Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodríguez-Vélez. U.S. Magistrate Judge Camille L. Vélez-Rivé authorized a complaint charging Santos Lantigua-Nuñez and Efrain Cedano-Díaz with conspiracy to possess a controlled substance on board a vessel subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.
