May 22, 2015 – US citizen sentenced in Mexico to 199 years for producing child pornography
A U.S. citizen convicted in Mexico for producing child pornography was sentenced May 19 to serve 199 years imprisonment by a Mexican district judge following an international investigation conducted by U.S. and Mexican law enforcement. Full Story
May 27, 2015 – 48 criminal aliens arrested by ICE Philadelphia in enforcement operation
Four dozen criminal aliens living in Pennsylvania and Delaware were arrested during a five-day enforcement operation. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Philadelphia took the 48 aliens into custody who are all a priority for removal from the United States. May 29, 2015 – ICE deports 2 Salvadoran MS-13 gang members wanted for aggravated homicide
Two Salvadoran MS-13 gang members wanted in El Salvador for unrelated aggravated homicides were removed Wednesday by ERO officers in Los Angeles, California. Full Story
May 28, 2015 – 15 Chinese nationals charged in passport, test taking fraud schemes
Fifteen Chinese nationals were indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of conspiracy, counterfeiting foreign passports, mail fraud and wire fraud. The charges stem from a joint ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) investigation. Full Story

Cornelis Jan Slomp, 23, of Woerden, the Netherlands, previously pleaded guilty in April 2014 to conspiracy to import and distribute various controlled substances worldwide. Slomp was also ordered to forfeit $3,030,000 in illegal drug proceeds from his criminal enterprise.

The 35-count indictment, returned on May 21, and unsealed today, names the following 12 individuals as defendants: Han Tong, Xi Fu, Xiaojin Guo, Yudong Zhang, Yue Zou, Biyuan Li (aka “Jack Li”), Jia Song, Ning Wei, Gong Zhang, Songling Peng, Siyuan Zhao and Yunlin Sun. The identities of the three additional defendants remain under seal.

Miguel Torres, 45, of Waterbury, Connecticut, was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport for enticing a minor. According to court documents and statements made in court, Torres met a minor female at the church they both attended.

Former Houston-area elementary teacher sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for producing child pornography
Derrick Gossett, 34, from Humble, Texas, was sentenced May 26 by U.S. District Judge Lynn Hughes to 180 months in federal prison, which is to be followed by 180 months of supervised release. Gossett must also register as a sex offender. At the time of the offense, he was a music teacher at Anderson Elementary School in the Spring ISD. Gossett pleaded guilty to producing child pornography Aug. 4, 2014.

Alejandro Valencia, 32, Eric Octavio Rangel-Ortega, 33, and Alfredo Avitia, 34, all from Mexico residing in Kansas City, Missouri, and Juan Rodriguez-Ponce, 62, and his son, Juan Carlos Rodriguez-Maynez, 36, both from Mexico, were sentenced to varying federal prison terms and ordered to forfeit proceeds from their illegal drug trafficking.

HSI special agents arrested Wally Irizarry Sisco, 60, of Ponce, for transporting an 11-year-old minor to a local motel in Juana Diaz for sex. In a similar, but separate, case, José E. Montalvo-Febus, 30, of Guayama, was arrested for illegally transporting a 13-year-old, now 17, to a secluded area and to local motels to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Gamaliel Cortez-Mendoza, 43, of Laredo, pleaded guilty May 26 to possessing child pornography and failing to register as a sex offender. Cortez-Mendoza was arrested in January following an investigation by the Laredo Child Exploitation Task Force.
