Convicted child molester Cesar De La Torre was apprehended near a middle school in Calimesa, California on December 29 after a six month investigation.

Border Patrol agents in the El Centro Sector, specifically those from the Indio Station Targeted Enfocement Unit (TEU) worked with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spent six months investigating the whereabouts of De La Torre. The investigation included “many house of surveillance and research” to find and arrest the illegally present criminal foreign national.

Ultimately he was tracked to what was referred to as “his home” is Calimesa. The residence was “walking distance to a local middle school.” The information was presented as a concerning factor given his status as a convicted child molester.

De La Torre, 43, was convicted of child molestation in the United States. A sex offender registry listing for the illegally present foreign national lists his criminal offense as against a child under the age of 18.

“The continuous commitment in working with other law enforcement agencies in the Coachella Valley is extremely helpful to keep our communities safe,” said Special Operations Supervisor Daniel Sandez.

De La Torre is a Mexican citizen. He was arrested at the Calimesa home then transported to the Adelanto Detention Facility to be processed for removal.
