Teen faces deportation after selling pot brownies to finance prom dress

Some kids raise money by washing cars. Others sell candy or magazines.

Saira Munoz decided to go for something with a higher profit margin.

The 18-year-old needed money to buy a prom dress, so she put on a bake sale and found another student to help her sell the goodies.

However, these goodies had more than sugar. They were also laced with marijuana.

CBS Sacramento reports the plan went south when a student got sick and had to be taken to a hospital.

Munoz was arrested and sentenced to nine days in jail and four years of probation.

Yuba City, California cops had even more bad news for Saira. Because the student who helped her, Carlos Robles, was underage she was charged with employing a minor to sell marijuana, a felony.

But there’s more.

Munoz came to the United States on a temporary visa in 2000.

The felony charge means she may be deported.

No word on if she ever made the prom.
