ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT CONVICTED OF TEXAS KIDNAPPING FOR MEXICAN CARTEL (update)

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT CONVICTED OF TEXAS KIDNAPPING FOR MEXICAN CARTEL

    McAllen Police

    by ILDEFONSO ORTIZ28 May 2015

MCALLEN, Texas — A criminal alien with four previous convictions has pleaded guilty to taking part in a kidnapping in this Texas border city, under orders from his cartel bosses in Mexico.

The kidnapping in question took place in January, when, according to court documents obtained by Breitbart Texas, Martin Margarito Casimiro and 17-year-old Silvestre Lopez held Gustavo Burr and Andres Reyes at gunpoint at a north McAllen house, in order to collect money owed to a Mexican drug boss. The kidnapping appears to have been over a $300,000 drug debt. Court records do not identify the Mexican cartel that had ordered the kidnapping.

One of the victims managed to flee and get help when his captors fell asleep. While McAllen police initially made the arrest, Homeland Security Investigations took over Margarito’s case in order to prosecute him in federal court, while Lopez’s case remained in state court. Authorities initially charged Margarito with one count of being an alien in possession of firearms, but as time went on they were able to obtain a superseding indictment charging him with one count of conspiracy to take a hostage, two counts of kidnapping, and the original weapons charge.

At the time of the arrest, police officers seized a Lorcin .25 caliber handgun, a Hipoint .45 caliber and an AR-15, court records revealed.

This week, Margarito went before U.S. District Judge Micaela Alvarez, where he pleaded guilty to one count of kidnapping. He is set for sentencing in August, where he faces a possible life sentence.

During the hearing, Margarito admitted to holding a handgun to one victim’s head as he demanded payment, and further admitted to coordinating the kidnapping.

Margarito, an illegal alien from Camargo Tamaulipas, has been deported at least four times before, court records revealed.

With no college education I know that deportation and open borders are not complementary companions to border security enforcement. I know the President is college educated, I do not know of any Congress people not similarly educated. What did I miss by not getting a college education? It must have been hugely important. A poll released this morning still indicated a majority of republican voters still favor those who favor open borders, or path to citizenship, and other things that makes these crimes easier to commit. I hope that we stay aware of that when the election polls open, that the party favors what we don't.

Illegal Alien, Convicted Cartel Kidnapper Charged in Texas Double Execution

    by Ildefonso Ortiz
    14 Jul 2015

McALLEN, Texas—A previously convicted cartel kidnapper and illegal alien has been charged in connection with a double execution in Texas tied to a cartel-affiliated, human-smuggling organization.

Martin Casimiro Margarito, a 29-year old criminal alien from Mexico in federal prison, has been identified by the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office as one of the men responsible for an October 2014 kidnapping and double execution in the border city of Pharr.

As previously reported by Breitbart Texas, three large Hispanic men had forced 39-year-old Elia Margarita Flores out of a black pickup truck in a broad daylight kidnapping in that border city.

Soon after authorities learned that the truck driven by Flores belonged to 24-year-old Victor Manuel Garcia who had also been kidnapped.

On November 4, authorities recovered Garcia’s body in a rural area; the remains had been stuffed inside trash bags and dumped in a northern part of Hidalgo County. Just six days later authorities also discovered Flores’ decomposed body in a rural area near the border city of Donna.

At the time of the murders, Breitbart Texas had spoken with Hidalgo County Sheriff’s investigators who confirmed that the two victims in the case had ties to drug and human smuggling activity.

When authorities announced the capital murder warrant for Margarito they confirmed that the motive was tied to a “criminal organization tied to human smuggling.”

While authorities have not identified the criminal organization, Breitbart Texas previously reported that Mexico’s Gulf Cartel had made more than $38 million in just a few months during last year’s humanitarian crisis. It was during that crisis that the Gulf Cartel not only profited from human smuggling but also used it as a way to keep law enforcement occupied while they pushed their drug loads with few obstacles.

Authorities will not have to travel far to bring Margarito to justice since, as Breitbart Texas previously reported, he is currently in federal custody following his guilty plea in May to having taken part in a cartel-ordered kidnapping.

Margarito pleaded guilty to working for a Mexican drug boss who had ordered him to collect a $300,000 drug debt from two men in the border city of McAllen.

Mexican National now a Prime Suspect for a Double-Murder

Warrant issued 8 months after bodies were found

    POSTED: 08:36 PM CDT Jul 15, 2015

    WESLACO -

Martin Casimiro Margarito is now the prime suspect in a pair of murders. A warrant for his arrest was issued eight months after the bodies were found.

In October, CHANNEL 5NEWS first reported the kidnapping of Elia Margarita Flores. She was yanked from her truck at gunpoint. Hidalgo County deputies said several people kidnapped the 39-year-old woman. Victor Manuel Garcia was also kidnapped from that scene in Pharr. Garcia’s body was found stuffed in trash bags, dumped north of McAllen. Flores’s body was found days after her kidnapping. Her body was found in a field, north of Donna.

Investigators determined both of the victims were gunned down. The two victims were involved in human smuggling. Hidalgo County Sherriff’s deputies said they have evidence to prove it.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS found court documents that showed that Martin Casimiro Margarito repeatedly entered the country illegally.

Federal documents showed that Margarito waded or rafted across the Rio Grande River four times in 2007 and was caught by Border Patrol agents.

Margarito served a total of 130 days in federal prison for his four illegal re-entries into the country. He paid $40 for the crime and was ordered to deport every time.

Margarito made it back into the U.S. again, and Flores and Garcia were found murdered in November 2014, two months later. His latest run-in with federal authorities led him to McAllen for an alleged kidnapping for ransom.

In January, a man called police and said he escaped from a home on North 5th Street. The caller said he was kidnapped, because he lost a drug load. Police raided the house.
Police found another person tied up during the house raid. Margarito and a teen were arrested. The Mexican national reportedly also had a number of guns in the home.

Margarito struck a plea deal with federal authorities on that case. He will be sentenced in August.

The office of U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar released a statement to CHANNEL 5 NEWS about the deportation of criminal undocumented immigrants:
Congressman Cuellar "supports the deportation of criminal undocumented immigrants who pose a threat to national security, border security and public safety, including convicted felons and those engaged in terrorism, espionage, murder and the attempted re-entry into the United States."

The congressman participated in a Homeland Security hearing on Tuesday. Cuellar voted in favor of an amendment that would immediately deport undocumented immigrants who pose an immediate threat to security and safety.

Martin Casimiro Margarito will be sentenced in August for the incident in January. Hidalgo County is working to get him charged for last year’s murders of Elia Margarita Flores and Victor Manuel Garcia.

Hidalgo County deputies are still searching for suspects in last year’s kidnapping. Anyone with information linked to the crime should contact the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.
