    ASHEVILLE — The federal government’s willingness to release nine restaurant workers detained in an immigration raid indicates authorities are working on an investigation targeting others for more serious crimes, an attorney for some of the workers said Friday.

    U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also sent agents from a division dealing with severe crimes to conduct the raid at Shogun Buffet Hibachi Grill & Sushi, Asheville attorney Rob Hill said.

    “It was an operation conducted by ICE Investigations, which looks into criminal behavior, which could include human trafficking,â€
