Immigration and the Wage Race to the Bottom

The best remedy for reducing "income inequality" that the Left ignores.

The French philosopher Voltaire said, “Judge a man by his questions rather than by his answers.”

Today many people have what they believe are strong opinions but all too often have no fact-based reason for their opinions and beliefs.

Politicians and con artists (all too often politicians are con artists) know how to exploit the human weakness of people wanting to read into statements and promises made by politicians.

It is vital that Americans shoulder their responsibilities that their position of citizen requires. Nothing should ever be taken at face value. Every statement, especially statements made by politicians must

not be taken with the proverbial “grain of salt,” but with an entire salt mine.

Skepticism must give rise to focused questions.

My parents raised me to believe that the only “dumb questions” are the questions we don't ask.

When politicians promise to provide us with “wage equality” the corollary of “reducing wage inequality,” we must begin by asking with whom our wages will be made more equal.

On September 30, 2015 Newsmax published the report, “De Blasio Plans Presidential Income Inequality Forum in Iowa.”

I worked as a union carpenter. Or should I say "Tried to work." Our state has been gripped with horrendous recessions, and our craft is not state certified, so anybody can get into it. They try to protect women members on the job, so you end up having to always supervise them and they get extra "rights" protection. It's a good old boys network and people often think the unskilled but goofy party-animal type is simply fun to have on the job for after hours socializing, never mind that they don't know what they're doing!!

So then the union bosses figure that the illegal aliens---who have also taken the residential side work that members fill in with--would be good for their bottom line. And the union supporting politicians are trying to get extra votes any way they can. So now, every where I go instead of Americans with small remodeling businesses, or independent carpenters just picking up some side work, we are saturated with illegal aliens, everywhere! And I think this will only develop into a worse situation---as we create just one more group that is economically dependent and will harass the government as it deems fit for its own interests.

No, it is bolstering the globalists----secular, and some of them religious too. And the target is now on whites, Christians, men and people who actually work--as opposed to smarty pants 'professionals' who are just scalping off the top of the economic system.

It's everyone, Captainron. Think about those professional workers out in California who worked for California Edison and others who worked for Disney and so many more than haven't even hit the news yet, professionals quietly and secretly under threat of losing their firing package who were laid-off and replaced by foreign workers they were forced to train. When they move a Nabisco plant to Mexico or close an old Ford plant in Detroit to build a new one in Mexico, think about all those workers, those who do labor as well as all the managers and high-tech "smarty pants" professionals lose their jobs, too.

It's everyone. Sure, the executive offices at corporate stay hired and probably get bonuses for laying off Americans, but guess what? What goes around comes around. You'll find a lot of companies who have decided to move their corporate headquarters out of the US as well.

It's everyone. We're all in this together. I know it may not seem so at times, but it really is hurting everyone.

Americans need to pull together, not find ways to divide US. When our employers are messing up with their work forces, when corporations can't abide simple fair-minded laws that regulate what they do with employees, whether it's pay discrimination, discriminatory hiring practices, or illegal hiring practices, it's a sign that our employers mostly private corporations, both for-profit and not-profit are corrupt. And when they're corrupt, they're dangerous whether they're a chemical company contaminating water and soil, an automotive company selling cars with bad switches that prevent an airbag from deploying or installing electronic systems to violate air emissions standards, or a tire company selling defective tires or a hospital committing all types of medical malpractice that kills over 200,000 Americans a year, or banks selling worthless derivatives that nearly destroyed our economy and many others, it harms US all, and does so in ways that are irreparable, damage, harm and suffering that can never be undone or corrected.

Which brings to mind an issue we need to be very careful on, and that is the conservatives movement to reduce regulation. We have regulations because they were necessary. Have some outlived their moment in time? Possibly. Have most not done so? Probably not.
