Kennedy: Immigration Will Decide Control of Congress

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) warned Republicans to either accept the Senate's version of immigration reform - which includes amnesty for illegal aliens - or risk losing Congress to Democrats in the upcoming mid-term elections.

"If we can't get this Congress to pass fair immigration before now, we'll elect a new Congress in November that will pass it," said Kennedy to a cheering crowd at a rally supporting amnesty for illegal aliens on the National Mall. "We will pass an immigration bill in Congress that is worthy of America."

Thousands of people gathered to hear Kennedy speak in support of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act (S. 2611), one of two bills currently under consideration by Congress. The turnout was significantly less than the hundreds of thousands predicted by rally organizers.

Kennedy also used the opportunity to rally for something closer to home when he spotted some of his constituents from Massachusetts.

"I see some Massachusetts people here," Kennedy said. "They are gonna get me re-elected."

The crowd laughed in response.

Switching back to immigration, Kennedy criticized the Republican-led Congress for not passing the Senate bill.

"Congress does not have the right or the luxury to let four weeks go by refusing to deal with it," Kennedy said.

The House of Representatives has passed differing legislation (H.R. 4473), which would implement deportation and other enforcement activities targeting illegal aliens and the businesses that employ them, before any type of "guest worker" program could begin.

Amelia of Gettysburg, Pa., agrees with the idea of border security in principle, but supports amnesty for illegal aliens who are already in the United States.

"[I want] legalization for the people that is [sic] already here and they have a job, because if they have a job in this place, they are needed," she said. "We came here to scream as loud as we can, because we need to be heard. We need them [Congress] to understand."

Tyler, a schoolteacher who was part of small counter-protest on the fringe of the crowd, opposes amnesty for illegal aliens.

"It's unfair for people who are trying to come here legally for these criminals to cut in line ahead of them," he said. "These protesters are effectively demanding that the law be bent to allow people who violated the law to cut in front of immigrants who are waiting to get here legally."

He believes that - by enforcing its immigration laws - America is only exercising its right to protect its borders and to improve its national security.

"[The protesters] want any restrictions on immigration to be completely removed, which is ridiculous, because we need the lawful ability to regulate who comes into this country," Tyler said. "Every other nation has the right to do that."

Poor Ted....he just doesn't "get it" does he?

Good! Hopefully the people of his state are beginning to see what a danger he is to this country.

Kennedy stands for nothing that is pro-United States (actually he stands for himself and his greed)----- the worst U.S. Senator of all-time needs to shut his mouth. How about those American Workers Teddy??

That is a very scary thought and should light a fire under our butts like never before!! We must identify all the our friends running for office and GET THEM ELECTED!! Not only will it help our cause by giving us more friends in Congress, it'll also wake up a few of the fence sitters already in there. Congress needs to know, you're either with us or you aren't - and Lord pity those that aren't!

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about President Bush, he's a lost cause. I think that man is the most stubborn man that ever walked the face of the planet - there will be no changing his mind.

All I can say about Teddy is, the devil must have worked very hard to see that John and Bobby were shot down when they were young, and what a laugh the devil must have had knowing that that bag of wind Teddy was left behing in their place, to help bring about the destruction of America! I think way down deep inside Teddy knows he could never measure up and fill the shoes his brothers left, and it left him a very bitter hateful, vengful person who decided if he could not have the brass ring, that being the presidency, well instead then he would be one of the driving force to make America pay by bringing her to her knees!

When his brother saw the danger of how secret organizations (such as those supporting the NAU) would even use the Presidency to undermine the American way of life, at least John was man enough to stand up at Columbia University to tell the American people that these organizations exist and what their intentions were. Ted is a weak link in the chain of Kennedys. He's a globalist before he's an American. He sees the conspiracy taking place, but unlike his brother of greater intestinal fortitude, he has sucumbed to the conspiracy and even openly promotes the NAU.

Make no mistake about it.. the implementation of the NAU is a conspiracy to do away with America and her borders, her culture and her FREEDOM. We will all be slaves in a world where nothing matters but survival. And all this so that we can compete with slave oriented governments like China, rather than standing up to them and denying them a place in the global economy.

Pat Buchanan recently said that "what we know in our hearts must be done.." I can garrantee you he doesn't mean sitting around and faxing and phoning your representative

I would not vote for anyone who is a member of the CFR, Trilateral commission, Bilderberg group, Ford foundation ect.. you all know who they are and the TREASON THEY PROMOTE!!


Impeach Boosh!!

I think we need to start demanding Impeachment of Bush and Cheney so they are removed from office without any further authority to undermine our nation, our people, our laws, or our Will.
