Laura Ingraham to launch news site

By DYLAN BYERS | 3/31/15 1:31 PM EDT

Laura Ingraham, the conservative radio host and Fox News contributor, is planning to launch a new conservative news and opinion website, sources with knowledge of her plans told the On Media blog on Tuesday.
One source said that Neil Munro, the political reporter who resigned from the Daily Caller this week, will serve as the site's editor, though that could not immediately be confirmed. Neither Ingraham nor Munro responded to a request for comment on Tuesday.
Ingraham's new site will likely reflect the pundit's conservative ideology and champion her pet causes, the sources said. Ingraham has been an outspoken opponent of immigration reform and has dedicated herself to getting anti-"amnesty" candidates into office. In 2014, she helped turn Dave Brat into a conservative sensation, enabling his stunning upset over House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.
She will have a friend in Munro on this front. In 2012, Munro gained notoriety when he shouted a question at Obama in the middle of a Rose Garden announcement about changes to immigration policy. "Why'd you favor foreigners over Americans?” Munro yelled. Earlier this year, while questioning Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid about immigration policy, he even spelled the word "amnesty" out for him: "Amnesty. A-M-N-E-S-T-Y.”
The new site, launch date TBD, will join an already crowded field of conservative political sites, ranging from the likes of Breitbart News and Washington Free Beacon to older outlets like National Review and The Weekly Standard. Ahead of 2016, many of these conservative sites are jockeying for influence over the Republican nomination process, hoping to push their preferred candidate to the nomination.
Ingraham launched her political career as a speechwriter in the Reagan administration. She has been an influential conservative pundit since the mid-'90s and last year was named a contributor to "This Week," ABC's Sunday morning public affairs program.

Laura Ingraham and Neil Munro starting a new website sounds like great news to me! And to hell with Daily Caller after Tucker Carlson banned criticism of Fox News and their support for Obama's amnesty.

Neil Munro, reporter who heckled Obama, out at Daily Caller

By DYLAN BYERS | 3/31/15 11:13 AM EDT

Neil Munro, the reporter who famously heckled President Barack Obama in the Rose Garden, is leaving The Daily Caller after four years with the conservative site, the On Media blog has learned.
In a memo to staff, Daily Caller Editor Tucker Carlson said Munro had "not only elevated our journalism but helped define what the best kind of Daily Caller story looks like: rigorously fact based in its arguments, counter-cultural in its assumptions and blessedly free of euphemism and meaningless language."
"Virtually everyone here has learned something useful from Neil Munro. He's changed some of my views completely. He also barked at the president in public a couple of years ago, which was remarkable," Carlson wrote.
In June 2012, Munro shouted a question at Obama in the middle of a Rose Garden announcement about changes to immigration policy. "Why'd you favor foreigners over Americans?” Munro yelled.
“Excuse me, sir. It’s not time for questions," the president replied.
“Are you going to take questions?” Munro asked.
“Not while I’m speaking,” Obama said.
Munro would bring that same style of questioning to his coverage of Congress years later. In February, as Senate leaders sparred with reporters over questions about congressional funding for the Department of Homeland Security, Munro pressed both Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell on Obama’s immigration policies. At one point, Sen. Reid told Munro: "You’re making things up, young man."
Munro did not respond to a request for comment, and it is not clear where he's headed next.
"Where is Neil going? Honestly, I have no idea," Carlson wrote in his memo. Carlson said Munro wouldn't tell him, "with characteristic directness .... I got not a single detail from him other than, 1) he's leaving with great affection for The Daily Caller, and 2) he's not going to Breitbart."
Munro's departure comes two weeks after Daily Caller columnist Mickey Kaus quit his job because Carlson refused to let him publish critical items about Fox News.
