    LULAC Takes Stand On Boycott
    Angela Word, KFOX Associate Producer

    POSTED: 7:29 pm MDT April 29, 2006

April 29, 2006 -- As tensions continue to mount surrounding immigration reform one local organization is calling on local consumers to get involved.

Saturday the League of United Latin American Citizens, or LULAC, announced their support of this Monday's National Day of Action.

As KFOX reported, activists are asking all Mexican Americans to boycott American goods and services as a way to prove their power as consumers.

LULAC officials in Las Cruces say even though they support the effort, they are asking students to stay in class and that workers who fear they may lose their job stay at work.

"We need to be prudent they should ask for permission and many employers are giving them permission to participate and we encourage that but we don't want them to walk out at the expense of their jobs," said Belin Robles, of the Las Cruces LULAC chapter.

LULAC claims that Monday's Day of Action should be treated as a day of prayer for Latinos to show their support and faith in the American legal system and immigrants.

No Mamie they aren't stupid. They've just made the mistake of thinking Americans are stupid enough not to see through their "I break the law to support the American Legal System" double-treason-speak.
