Man arrested in deadly D.U.I.-related crash near Selma now being held by I.C.E. detainer

Karmjit Singh - Held on I.C.E. detainer at Fresno County Jail, according to sources & the jail's website

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — Immigration & Customs Enforcement has now placed a hold on Karmjit Singh, the driver California Highway Patrol arrested for D.U.I. after the deadly crash on Saturday night.

The Fresno County jail's website shows that Karmjit Singh is now being held on an I.N.S. detainer.

Jail records show Singh is a citizen of India, and that his fingerprints match that of someone's with illegal status.

I.C.E. officials say that his U.S. citizenship status is being reviewed.

There is a fundraiser Saturday, March 2nd for the victim's family.

Selma Little League, Selma Grizzlies and Sweet Heat BBQ are hosting the fundraiser on Saturday, March 2nd from noon to 6:00 p.m. at Selma Little League Park. 2550 Olive St. in Selma.

The price is $10 per plate for lunch and dinner, which includes pulled pork, rice pilaf, chili beans and a dinner roll.
