Man charged with being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm

Erling Amato Lagos-Sanchez, 23, of Whitesville, WV has been charged with being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm.
That is according to a press release sent to 13 News from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin's office.

On September 29, 2012, Lagos-Sanchez allegedly possessed a loaded 9-millimeter pistol, near Raleigh County.
Lagos-Sanchez faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, if convicted.

The investigation into Lagos-Sanchez's alleged crime was conducted by the Homeland Security Investigations, the F.B.I., and the United States Marshals Service.
