Man charged in P.B. brawl pleads not guilty

SAN DIEGO — A 23-year-old La Jolla man charged in a courtyard brawl in Pacific Beach that left a man hospitalized pleaded not guilty Thursday in San Diego Superior Court.

Agahan Alemdar was booked into the George F. Bailey Detention Facility without bail. He also has been placed on an immigration hold.

He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury and battery with serious bodily injury, according to jail records.

Alemdar turned himself in to police Tuesday afternoon, a day after authorities said he was wanted in connection with a stabbing in the courtyard of an apartment building on Hornblend Street near Cass Street.

Police said Alemdar and another man got into an altercation about 4 p.m.

The victim was stabbed in the neck with a knife.
