GULFPORT — An illegal immigrant from Mexico who was deported in 2009 after shooting into a house has now been convicted of returning to the United States without permission.
Federal court records say Hector Hernandez-Tinajero was convicted in 2007 for shooting into a dwelling in Desoto County and deported in May 2009. He was caught in Arizona a few months later in October 2009 and deported again.
An immigration official said in court records that he found Hernandez-Tinajero in September in a Leakesville jail. He pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of reentry of a deported alien.
A sentencing date wasn't immediately set.
