Authorities are in the middle of a massive search for at least 100 illegal immigrants and smugglers armed in north McAllen.

It all happened in in a brushy area off North 10th Street and Sprague Avenue just after 1 p.m. Thursday.
According to initial reports, there were more than 100 illegal immigrants hiding in the brush and smugglers.
Border Patrol agents and McAllen police are both are the scene while a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) helicopter is in the skies.
So far, only a few of the immigrants have been located.
According to Border Patrol, a BB gun that resembled a rifle has been confiscated.
Action 4 News will provide updates as they become available.
