The mother and father split up when the boy was 3.
The father took him and his sisters to Mexico with him.
    Only the mother stayed behind.
She has a new husband and more kids now.

    Update

U.S. consular officials have met with both sisters of Edgar Jimenez Lugo, the U.S. State Department said Wednesday.

Lina-Ericka Jimenez Lugo, 23, and Elizabeth Jimenez Lugo, 19, are being held in a Mexico City detention facility for 30 days while the investigation continues into their ties to organized crime.

U.S. officials are also working to verify the citizenship of the sisters, a State Department spokeswoman said. San Diego County birth registration documents obtained by The San Diego Union-Tribune show Lina-Ericka was born in Jiutepec, Mexico, and Elizabeth was born in San Diego.

I'll bet Mommy Dearest was well aware as to what her little anchor baby/murderer was doing. He probably was giving her monies gotten from those things or buying her luxury items. I don't buy his story about being kidnapped and forced into doing those things either.

The local media is now saying mother was very active in her church and a successful Amway Dealer.
I guess Amway doesn't check citizenship of it's independent contract dealers.

(Or maybe it was Tupperware. I'm not sure now.)

Mother of alleged cartel hitman arrested in San Diego

    December 8, 2010 | 7:26 pm

The mother of a 14-year-old San Diego-born boy suspected of being a hitman for a Mexican cartel has been arrested in San Diego.

Yolanda Jimenez Lugo, 43, was arrested by Border Patrol agents at her home on a charge of being a deported alien who returned illegally to the U.S. According to court documents, she was deported in 1997.

Also arrested was her husband, Gabriel Aguirre-Manuel. The couple married in 2008. There is no indication that he is the father of 14-year-old Edgar Jimenez Lugo, the accused hitman now in jail in Mexico.

A document on file at the San Diego County county clerk's office lists the boy's birth date as 1996 in San Diego. He was arrested as he sought to board an airplane to Tijuana.
