ICE database confirms illegal immigrants’ identities


Fingerprint technology helps lead to the arrest of three men

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Gulfport recently used a fingerprint database of deported immigrants to identify three men who were later convicted of crimes in the United States and turned up in Mississippi on new criminal charges.

The men were in custody in different counties when fingerprint checks by the Gulfport ICE office confirmed their true identifies.

Their fingerprints had been placed in a Department of Homeland Security database after each of them illegally crossed the U.S. border and were returned to Mexico.
