No more driver's licenses for undocumented immigrants, Martinez ad says

Republican gubernatorial candidate Susana Martinez has released a new TV ad in which she says she will stop “giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrantsâ€

There is no increase in safety as a result of availibility of drivers licenses. Of those illegal aliens who drive those that drive well do not drive better when they get licenses. Those who can not drive well but are on the road do not stop their driving just because they get rejected for drivers licenses.

It is good not to give them a driver's license but they don't care and drive anyways. Unless they get arrested and then deported we can't win. In Miami Dade County the number of hit and run accidents where the person is seriously injured or killed is enormous. I monitor 2 county jails and they arrest illegals on a regular basis for driving without a valid driver's license. Collier County which include Immokalee where you have lots of farmers and thus illegals, they arrest more than one for driving without a valid driver's license on a daily basis. Broward County is one every 1 to 2 days.

This is good news, but sadly they will still drive. They will continue to hit and run and injure American citizens.
