REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Deputies say two men were arrested after about 1,060 lbs. of marijuana and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash was found in their Reidsville home.

According to a news release from the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, Antonio Nunez, 30, and Jose Gomez, 26, were both arrested after deputies and police searched their home at 803 O’Bryant Road on Sunday.

During the search, deputies said they seized about 1,060 lbs. of marijuana, $600,000 in cash, and an AR-15 assault rifle.

In the original news release, deputies estimated the amount of marijuana to be about 800 lbs.

They later corrected the amount to 1,060 lbs.

The two suspects, who deputies said are in the U.S. illegally, are each in jail under I.C.E. detainers and $1 million secured bonds.

The Greensboro Police Department assisted in the search and investigation, deputies said.

This may be a dumb question but who gets the money? Personally I hope it stays with the cops and NOT the feds. If it stays with the locals they can keep up the great work AND catch more of these lowlifes!
