Fremont State Senator Charlie Janssen, Iowa Congressmen Steve King and Tom Latham and other dignitaries will be in front of the City-County Building in Omaha this afternoon to attend a Vigil for Justice for murder victim Louise Sollowin. The 93 year old woman was murdered in her south Omaha home last July. Omaha police say Sollowin was raped and beaten to death while in her bed and the suspect was found passed out on top of her.

Today’s vigil will coincide with the pre-trial hearing for the suspect, 19 year old Sergio Martinez-Perez, an illegal immigrant.

Susan Tully is the National Field Director for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, the event organizer and says this event is to help support those who have been impacted by the actions of illegal aliens. Tully says these citizens are also victims of a federal government that does nothing to enforce immigration laws in place and does everything within its power to protect and provide a sanctuary to those who are breaking the law by being here illegally.

The Vigil for Justice is from 1 until 3 this afternoon at 17th and Farnam Streets in downtown Omaha.
