Police Arrest Immigration Violator

Arrested on drug charge and turned over to ICE

On July 14, Westfield Police turned over a suspect in custody to federal immigration officials following an arrest on a drug charge.

Sabrin Silva was arrested following a motor vehicle top on South Avenue West and Hort Street. He was charged with possession of a prescription legend drug without a prescription. A subsequent investigation showed that he was wanted by federal immigration officials on a immigration violation.

After bail was set at $1000 for the drug charge, Silva was released into the custody of agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
