ALBUQUERQUE — An Albuquerque man who allegedly tried to vote twice in the Nov. 6 election has been arrested on a felony forgery charge.

The Albuquerque Journal reports (ABQJournal Online » Man Accused of Voting Twice Arrested) Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputies arrested 48-year-old Thomas Pino on Thursday and he was released from jail the same day.

Deputy County Clerk Roman Montoya says an older man claiming to be 18 years old showed up to vote and was given a ballot.

The man voted but the presiding judge was suspicious and came over to talk to him. He panicked and rushed out but poll workers wrote down a description.

Montoya says it appears the man voted once for himself and once under his son’s name. Only one was counted.

A message was left for a phone listing for Pino on Sunday.
