New York City officials say Bronx resident, Sonia Estrada, 46, has married four foreign nationals in a cash-for-citizenship scam. She was caught while applying for a license for her fifth marriage.

The New York Daily News quoted one city official as saying: “She was a pay-for-play wife. Each guy paid her a few thousand bucks and got their papers. She had a real racket going."

Estrada has been issued four marriage licenses (one in 1985, two in 1992, and one in 1994), she was never divorced from either of her four previous husbands.

Her husbands are Pedro Chinchilla, of Colombia; Luis Montoya Rendon, also of Colombia; Fredy Jorge, of Peru; and Juaquin Mejia, of the Dominican Republic.

Estrada, who has three daughters with another man, actually told Administrative Law Judge Ingrid Addison her dead twin had entered into all of the fraudulent marriages.

Estrada’s case has been referred to the New York City Police Department.
