NEW YORK — The New York City Council is spending $3 million on legal services for young illegal immigrants who want to apply for the right to work legally in the U.S.

The new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program launched by President Barack Obama could affect more than 1 million young illegal immigrants around the country.

Council Speaker Christine Quinn announced Wednesday that the city funding will go to the Legal Aid Society and other community-based organizations. The groups will work with applicants who want help navigating the program and filling out paperwork.

The program lawyers will also provide help with benefits, housing and consumer and family law.

Quinn said in a statement that "undocumented immigrants have a right to an education and a safe and productive life here in the U.S."

I swear we should start suing the media every time they call an illegal an immigrant. Notice the title in big bold letters: NYC council funds $3M program for young 'immigrants'!!!!

"The program lawyers will also provide help with benefits, housing and consumer and family law."
America, the gift that keeps on giving.

"Quinn said in a statement that "undocumented immigrants have a right to an education and a safe and productive life here in the U.S."
In essence, have your parents break the law and bring you here and we will reward you. You are special and we will put you on a pedestal. You will be placed above all the people waitng in line who are coming here through the proper channels and can reap all kinds of benefits. Lovely people those Americans.
