Obama’s Dream Act by fiat condemned by lawmakers, enforcement agents

Obama’s Dream Act by fiat condemned by lawmakers, enforcement agents

    BY JIM KOURI

Senator David Vitter (R-LA), a ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, slammed President Barack Obama‘s immigration policy changes Sunday during an appearance on Fox News Channel. Vitter. Sen. Vitter told anchor Shannon Bream that he and a number of senators are joining federal law enforcement officials in blocking Obama’s attempt at incremental “amnesty” through fiat.

Vitter said today that he supports the fight against the White House by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), who held a press conference televised on Fox News Channel on Thursday, along with officials from two major unions that represent federal law enforcement agencies, in order to increase national awareness of the Obama administration’s continued descent into lawlessness.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agent Christopher Crane, President of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, the union representing America’s more than 7,000 ICE agents and personnel, and Border Patrol agent George McCubbin, President of the National Border Patrol Council, the union representing America’s more than 17,000 border agents and personnel, both blasted President Barack Obama’s de facto “Dream Act,” and the actions of superiors at their respective agencies.

“The Administration claims it has diligently enforced immigration law and that the border is ‘more secure than ever.’ But those on the front lines know this to be untrue. They see the violence, chaos and lawlessness. They have lost confidence in the leadership of their agencies,” according to the outspoken Agent Crane.

“As you will hear today, this administration has engaged in a sustained, relentless effort to undermine America’s immigration laws. They have handcuffed and muffled those charged with protecting the public safety and the integrity of our borders. Such action has not only weakened our security but our democracy, as well,” he stated.

“All Americans, immigrant and native born, will have a better future if our nation remains unique in the world for the special reverence it places on the rule of law and fairness in our immigration system,” Crane stated.

“It‘s impossible to understand the full scope of the administration’s changes, but what we are seeing… concerns us greatly,” Crane said.

Last week, the news media — including the Law Enforcement Examiner — reported on a shocking discovery: the U.S. government allowed up to 25 illegal aliens to attend a flight school in Boston, according to a Government Accountability Office report.

The illegal aliens included eight who had entered the country illegally and 17 who had overstayed their allowed period of admission into the United States, according to an audit by the GAO. Even more shocking was the report that the owner of the flight school is an illegal alien.

Three of the illegal aliens were actually able to get pilot’s licenses, according to the GAO.

The revelation of the illegalities occurring at the FAA-licensed flight school occurred when local police officers — not members of the multi-billion dollar budgeted Homeland Security Department – captured the owner of the school during a traffic stop and were able to determine that he was an illegal alien.

During the press conference, Crane discussed the Obama administration’s concept of “prosecutorial discretion” for what Crane called “DREAMers,” — illegal aliens covered by President Obama’s new executive order.

According to Crane’s description, the order has effectively allowed prosecutors to treat these individuals as not only immune to immigration law, but immune to practically all law. Moreover, any illegal immigrant can simply claim to have a GED, or be enrolled in high school, and the law will be applied to them with no questions asked. “There is no burden for the alien to prove anything,” Crane said.

Crane described the case of an illegal alien who had been arrested on four different charges, including felony arrests. The prosecutors in the case allegedly allowed the suspected criminal alien to walk out of the courtroom “without the least trace of concern,” Crane stated.

“He’s a DREAMer. Release him,” Crane claims the prosecutors said.

Meanwhile, during the press conference, Border Patrol Agent George McCubbin, accused Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano of patting herself on the back for her record on immigration enforcement.

He accused Napolitano of surrounding herself with “yes men.” “When you surround yourself with people who always say ‘yes,’ you will get the answer you want,” McCubbin said.

ICE and Border Patrol agents through their union, claim their leaders have little regard for the safety of the American people. Their union has released a letter announcing its recent unanimous “vote of no confidence” in ICE agency heads, accusing them of “misleading the American public” regarding illegal immigration in order to further a pro-amnesty agenda. The National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council and its affiliated local councils cast a unanimous 259-0 vote of no confidence in ICE Director John Morton and Assistant Director Phyllis Coven.

The National Council members criticized the ICE leadership and claim they created “misguided and reckless initiatives,” and claim ICE managers “abandoned the Agency’s core mission of enforcing United States immigration laws and providing for public safety, and have instead directed their attention to campaigning for policies and programs related to amnesty.”

    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.
