Obama Blasts Republicans for Holding Loretta Lynch ‘Hostage’

President Obama strongly criticized Senate Republicans for holding his Attorney General nominee “hostage” while waiting for Democrats to stop filibustering important human trafficking prevention legislation.

“You don’t hold attorney general nominees hostage for other issues,” Obama told The Huffington Post in an interview yesterday. “This is our top law enforcement office. Nobody denies that she’s well-qualified. We need to go ahead and get her done.”

McConnell has indicated that he will not allow a vote on Lynch until after the trafficking bill passes. Democrats say they are opposed to the legislation because it prevents federal funds from being used on abortions, although they voted for the measure in committee.

Some Democrats, including Sen. Dick Durbin, have suggested that Republicans are blocking Lynch because of her race. Obama did not follow suit.

“I don’t know about that,” the president said, according to the Huffington Post when asked about the racial angle.

“What I do know is that she is eminently qualified. Nobody denies it,” Obama said. “Even the Republicans acknowledge she’s been a great prosecutor. She has prosecuted terrorists in New York, she has gone after organized crime, she’s gone after public corruption. Her integrity is unimpeachable.”

Obama also used his weekend address to highlight Lynch’s confirmation.

“This is purely about politics,” he said. “First, Republicans held up her nomination because they were upset about the actions I took to make our broken immigration system smarter and fairer. Now they’re denying her a vote until they can figure out how to pass a bill on a completely unrelated issue. But they could bring her up for a yes-or-no vote at any time.”

Uh, hello, yes we do. The illegal immigration issue is a legal issue, Dumb Nuts, which makes it an Attorney General issue at its core, and you're the one who dragged the AG's office into your own lawlessness, not Republicans in the US Senate, oh no, you did that all by yourself. So, when you're lawless, and you exploit the taxpayers Attorney General's office to collaborate and conspire in your lawlessness, then oh my yes, and HELL YES, we can and should hold up any nomination to bring this government and its officials in line with the laws of the people of the United States.

And this nominee, a perhaps otherwise qualified nominee blew her own opportunity to become the Attorney General of the United States when she plainly stated that illegal aliens have the right to work. That alone disqualified her from the job for the simple reason that illegal aliens do not have the right to work in the United States, because a) they've no right to be in the United States and b) the reason for that is so they don't work in the United States and steal jobs from Americans. That's why it's illegal to hire illegal aliens in the United States, that's why it's illegal for them to work under the table, that's why it's illegal for them to have Social Security cards, and that's why they need to leave or be deported.

You had every chance to uphold US immigration law which defines an illegal alien as someone in our country without prior permission and you had every chance to uphold US immigration law that makes it illegal for illegal aliens to take work from employers who aren't supposed to hire them under US immigration law. The consequences of illegal aliens working in the United States are too obvious to mention other than to state again, doing so violates US immigration, US labor and US civil rights laws, the very laws that you as Attorney General if you hadn't blown your opportunity would be obligated to uphold and enforce.

Therefore when you state foreign persons have rights they don't have under US law, then you are most certainly and absolutely NOT QUALIFIED to serve our country in any legal capacity, let alone as Attorney General of the United States and the person responsible for the US Justice Department. Oh no, you're out! And the man you were standing up for is a lawless President who should at this point be removed from office. He's a hazard to the national security of the United States on every level and in every capacity.

You might have done some research on prior AG nominees and if you had you would have found a name, Zoe Baird, who lost her chance to be Attorney General of the United States because she hired some legal immigrants and failed to report their earnings to Social Security. You might also have done some research on women in politics and you would have discovered a more recent name, Meg Whitman, who lost her chance to be Governor of California because her husband hired some illegal aliens. And yes, they were Republican women. So don't go getting your nose out of joint thinking you're being picked on, because you're a woman. Republicans are relentless on a few things and immigration is one of them. Heck, you might have just looked back in history as far as 2012 and you would have realized that Mitt Romney lost the election for President of the United States because of his wishy washy stances on illegal immigration.

What a shame, it is, but it is one, nonetheless. Maybe the 4th time will be the charm and candidates and aspiring appointees will learn early enough in their lives that if Republicans are in charge, we will not elect you or confirm your appointment if you're an illegal alien sympathizer, don't know the laws of the United States or fail to comply with them well enough for US to have confidence in you to enforce them.

It offends me that the Democrats would use Loretta Lynch's gender and race as a reason that she should be appointed.

There are serious issues with their politics and her record of asset forfeiture and redistribution. Her stance on illegal immigration, amnesty and her stated support of unconstitutional executive orders expose her to be just another political schill in the Socialist?Democrat camp.

If a white male with the same politics and record was being considered I don't believe he would be confirmed.
