Thread: Ohio Sheriff Going After Undocumented Immigrants, Their Employers (Video)

Butler County, Ohio, Sheriff Richard Jones announced on Tuesday that he was cracking down on undocumented immigrants and local businesses that knowingly hire them (video below).

Jones tweeted:

I am assigning one detective to take information from people who report on illegals or employers who hire and violate the law.

I am encouraging people to report these violators to my office. Shame on employers who violate the law and think it is ok to hire illegals.

We will b watching you. From the dark to light.

“If you violate the law and you cheat on the taxes and you knowingly do this with people that are here illegally, and you knowingly do it and you encourage it, you have violated the law,” Jones told WDTN.

The Butler County Sheriff's Office became part of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's 287(g) program in 2013, which gave them the legal authority to enforce immigration laws, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Butler County is only one of 32 law enforcement agencies in the program.

Jones told MSNBC host Chris Hayes tonight that he was not racist and would deport Americans, who committed certain crimes, if he could.

The sick part is that Sheriff's everywhere in America doing this could make a huge difference. It is difficult to have respect for America's sheriff's but for a select few! When our sheriff's stand down, what do we have for front line protection?
