Illegal immigrant charged with dealing heroin

An illegal immigrant was arrested on multiple charges related to his alleged heroin dealing, Hazleton police said.

According to police, members of the police's Narcotics Unit and Special Operations Group, along with members of the Luzerne County Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at the residence of Noel Cala-Leliebre, 583 Carson St., Hazleton, at around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The warrant was obtained following an investigation into the sale of heroin by Cala-Leliebre, police said.

Inside the home, police allegedly seized approximately 30 grams of raw, unpackaged heroin; 75 bags of packaged heroin; 38 suboxone tablets; a digital scale and grinder; $638 in cash; and a quantity of an unknown substance used to cut raw heroin, police said.

According to police, Cala-Leliebre was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

Based on information from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, police said Cala-Leliebre is not in the United States legally.
