PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. - A man wanted on a felony immigration warrant was arrested by Indiana State Police on Sunday after he presented an expired Guatemalan ID.

State police said they pulled over a black Nissan SUV eastbound on I-70 in Putnam County after observing it following vehicles too closely.

During the traffic stop, a male passenger identified himself with an expired Guatemalan ID card. A computer check revealed the man was wanted on an active felony immigration warrant.

State police said the man had apparently committed felony battery and felony DUI charges in the past and had been deported from the United States.

The man, identified as Mario Arturo Lucas Ramos, 42, is alleged to have reentered the U.S. illegally.

Ramos was being held at the Putnam County Jail without bond on a Department of Homeland Security detention and removal order.
