    Populism & nationalism vs. globalism

    http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/artic ... E_ID=44743

    Patrick J. Buchanan
    World net daily
With their raucous "No!" votes on the new constitution, France and Holland have voted against the New Europe.

Seizing on the French-Dutch rejection, the British Labor Party has postponed a referendum, thus saving Tony Blair. For the near certainty of British rejection would have forced Blair's resignation. Now, Poland and other nations are putting off their referendums
The new constitution is dead. New Europe has been rejected by the people in whose name it is being advanced. Repudiated, as well, were the political elites who campaigned for that constitution. But though Brussels is unloved and Jacques Chirac has lost France, this was no vote of affection for or confidence in Bush's America.

This was a nationalist-populist protest demanding that France be France and Holland be Holland, and to blazes with the world. It was a vote against the free-trade globalism of George Bush and the Reagan-Thatcher economic model the European Left decries as "savage capitalism."

It was a victory of the Old Right that would restore the sovereignty of France and retain the national independence and unique and separate identity of the French people and culture. It was a vote against both Islamic immigration and Turkey's membership in the European Union.

Turkey's quest to enter Europe appears dead, as the likely leaders of France and Germany, a year from now – Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel – oppose its application. Where Turkey – a nation of 70 million, estranged from its old NATO ally, America, and shut out of Europe – goes from here is a great question. Tehran, Moscow and Beijing would seem to be the probable next stops.

This was also a victory for French socialists and communists who are demanding retention of the 35-hour work week and the cradle-to-grave security they believe to be the great achievement of the Left.

But this Right-Left backlash against globalization and integration of Europe cannot save Europe. For the de-Christianized European Union does not contain a single nation where the birth rate is sufficient to replace the population. Europe has begun to die. In 20 nations, the native-born population has begun to shrink. The cohort of workers entering the labor force is not large enough to maintain the welfare benefits, pensions and health care for retirees and elderly.

The French and Dutch voted for a contradiction – to preserve all the social welfare benefits they have, but to oppose the free-market reforms and immigration that alone can ensure economic growth and a steady resupply of new workers and taxpayers to preserve them. The crisis of Europe – inexorable economic decline and the early death of the indigenous European peoples – is unresolved by the massive protest vote of Left and Right. This was a cry in the wilderness.

Following the French-Dutch vote, it is not only the eastern expansion of the European Union that has been cast into doubt, but the survival of the European Union itself.

With growth in the major nations of Western Europe trailing that of the United States, France, Germany and Italy have repeatedly breached the fiscal guidelines set down by the European Monetary Union. These call for budget deficits of no more than 3 percent of GDP for nations that adopt the euro. France and Germany, the privileged pair, have been given a pass. But Italy is now being called to book, as its national debt now exceeds its Gross Domestic Product.

Cabinet ministers from Italy's Northern Alliance, fed up with the discipline imposed by the European Central Bank and a currency that has appreciated dramatically against the dollar, are calling for abandonment of the euro and restoration of the Italian lira.

This could trigger a financial crisis like the Asian crisis of 1997, when Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and South Korea devalued and went into de facto default on their foreign debts.

Understandably, the political leadership of any nation in a prolonged slump will wish to retain control of monetary as well as fiscal policy. Some 58 percent of all Germans are said to seek a return to the deutschmark. Unless Europe finds a solution to its economic stagnation – and France and Holland rejected the free-market, free-trade solution – the euro could be the next to go, and the European Union could follow it to the graveyard.

The hiding that French and Dutch voters have given Europe's elites, who aspired to superpower status and used America as their foil, is delightful to observe. But Bush Republicans and neocons reveling in the humiliation of Schroeder and Chirac should take note.

In the rout and humiliation of a European establishment that is committed to open borders and free-trade globalism by a Left-Right coalition, they may be staring at their own future. For that same Left-Right coalition is forming in the United States – against free-trade globalism, CAFTA, open-borders, amnesty for illegal aliens, Social Security reform and American empire.

Populism and nationalism have declared war on globalism.

It is an excellent article with one fallacy. Europe has not begin to die. Europe will now be strong and plenty for everyone. The low birth rate means exploding population which creates poverty and hardship has died, now prosperity can begin to flourish. Germany and France both have double-digit unemployment, one of 9% and another 12%. A shortage of "people" is not the problem in Europe. A shortage of "jobs" is the problem in Europe. They already have more "people" than the economy can sustain with employment.

With the EU Constitution dead, they can now control their borders and the unwanted immigration destroying their countries.

With populism and nationalism thriving once again, they can now address with national unity what is best for their individual nations.

With the birth rate under control, coupled with independence, populism and nationalism forging war against the evil globalists sucking their economies and personal coffers dry---prosperity and wealth per capita are now in Europe's Future Once Again!!

Down with these secret society globalists

Where is the Open Borders concept originating from?? It is the Corporate Elite and the want of
so-called "labor mobility" across Borders and demanding greed even though it sells out Nations, damaging the health, Foundations and economics of a particular Nation. The Constructors of globalism don't care as they plot schemes to impose a system upon unwanting Peoples. False promises are made, just as they have been to the Europeans. Once the contract or agreement is entered into then the Constructors of the agreement say they have to change laws and impose controls here and here. There are laws in the European Union document that imposes aspects on Peoples lives that has nothing to do with business trade. A system lemon-sold as prosperity for all and a utopia when it is rather corporate slavery to the Constructors advantage. All that matters is money, right?? Not building up communities but rather the race to the bottom,at the expense of Workers lives and livelihood that stages dangerous conditions for tyranny.

NO; NATIONS can and do exist in a mutually beneficial relationship that carries out Business Trade, LEGAL Cross-Border travel and lives in respect to each others National values like Nations always have operated. There does not have to be laws misnomered as "Free" Trade Agreements which is just the opposite,-- government controlled, law mandated business trade.

There does not have to be a Control mechanism that designs a Supra-National government or mega-nation Constitution that overrides the Constitution of sovereign Nations. Cross-Border desires to do away with Borders is a notion that BUSINESS does not take into account Culture or History or more importantly the FREEDOM/DEMOCRACY of said Peoples affairs being placed under multi-national Constitution. The EU Constitution or other notions of World mega-states along with Open Borders is a construct of eventual Communism and Socialism that does not have to be entered into and should be cast out as a failed idea. It is far fetched theory that the World become one giant National Commune under a corrupt abusive One World Order. Utopia ideas leads to corruption. Absolute Power corrupts absolutely. Anyway, rather, it is known and proven in the American marketplace that Capitalism works better with varied competition.

It is about the People and their true freedom.
Generally, Countries want to keep their identity and heritage and the Right to direct their affairs according to that heritage. That is sound humanity and perfectly OK. France and the Dutch People disapproved of what is going on with the EU plans and rightly rejected an imposed Corporate world slavery that violates their culture and does away with their sovereignty. Communities do not have to accept Intruders upon their affairs. Illegal immigrant or otherwise.

The words 'integration' and 'convergence' are spoken as some sort of positive when in fact it is freedoms' destruction. Constructors of World Government should be finding better things to do with their time and money such as helping Peoples lives rather than plotting a scheme to control Peoples lives. The false excuses that will rob Citizenry of their freedom and cultural standard of living are to be exposed. The Peoples of Nations have the Right to their heritage, laws and freedom. A shaky ill-begotten concept then deceptively sold as good is NOT good. CAFTA and the FTAA are bad unnecessary traps to enter into. Open Border globalism and Supra-National Constitutions (and now in the case of some nefarious concept by some Leaders in the U.S. for a security perimeter around North America to have the U.S.,mexico and Canada become one Land) should be rejected just as the EU Constitution was rightly rejected by France and the Netherlands.

    RIGHT ON RONLAWS!!

The proponents of Open Borders, New World Order, and One World Government have been working on this for a very long time, 53 years, under our noses but behind our backs. The Institutions and Corporations that we admired, respected, trusted, served and funded through our hard work and precious earnings....were in fact Traitors all along, working in concert with the collusion of the Main Stream Media by the agreement of the Directors of some of our most heretofore respected news and publishing organizations....which is why:

    WE DIDN'T KNOW until now.

It is a Betrayal Beyond Belief....and one that will not be forgotten and will.....never be forgiven.
