MCALLEN, Texas—A woman from Romania previously convicted of a store burglary and deported found her way back to Texas just months later.

On Friday morning, Alisa Sardaru went before U.S. Magistrate Judge Peter Ormsby who formally charged her with one count of illegal re-entry and ordered her held without bond.

Court records obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed that agents with U.S. Border Patrol originally arrested 24-year-old Sardaru near the border city of Roma after confirming that she was in the country illegally. The border city of Roma, Texas, has become a major drug trafficking and human smuggling corridor since the area does not have a border fence. The shallow waters of the Rio Grande are the only physical barrier for smuggling organizations such as the Gulf Cartel. During a follow up investigation, authorities learned that Sardaru had been deported in March 2015 after completing a prison sentence for a brazen store burglary in Florida.

In August 2012, Sardaru along with four other Romanian women and three other unidentified individuals staged an intricate theft where they worked to draw away the employees at a local store so they could break into the office to steal cash and checks stored inside, Florida’s Newszap reported.

At the time of the intricate theft, Sardaru had been pregnant and claimed to be going into labor in order to get away from authorities, however, hospital staff said she was not.

On February 2013, Sardaru ended up getting convicted of burglary and grand theft. A state judge sentenced Sardaru to one year and nine months in prison after which federal authorities deported her by placing her on an airplane in Baltimore headed back to Romania.
