Rand Paul Still 'Offensive' to Hispanics After Supporting Work Visas for Illegals

In what could be a sign that Republicans cannot simply win over Hispanics by being Democrat-lite on immigration issues, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) received no love from Hispanic leaders a day after he made a left turn on immigration policy and called for work visas for illegal immigrants.

Some even found him to be "offensive."

Paul made his comments in support of amnesty on Tuesday, at the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics, to David Axelrod, the former top adviser to President Barack Obama who is now the Institute's director.

On Wednesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, before Paul spoke at a Hispanics for School Choice event at St. Anthony's, Wisconsin State Rep. JoCasta Zamarripa, a Democrat of Hispanic descent, blasted Paul for using "incredibly cruel rhetoric when discussing those most affected by our country's broken immigration system."

"As an alumna of St. Anthony's I am disappointed that Senator Paul was invited to speak at a roundtable discussion today," Zamarripa said. "I hope community members use Senator Paul's visit as an opportunity to educate themselves on his radical viewpoints on so many legislative issues, especially immigration reform."

According to the Sentinel, Tony Baez, a Hispanic activist who is president and CEO of Centro Hispano, said Paul's visit was "offensive" and added that "the manipulation of Latinos in this day and age cannot be allowed."

"Rand Paul, elected into office with the push of billionaires and the Tea Party, is definitely among this party's most extreme and insensitive members," Baez reportedly said. "We have stood by to see the growth of vouchers in the Latino community and Latinos for Choice, but we can not allow insults and the manipulation of poor and working class Latinos."

Republican talk of amnesty does not appear to be working for many of them. If Republicans delivered amnesty on a silver platter to illegal aliens and their supporters they would still head toward the Democrats. These people are smart enough to know which party and which politicians will always be willing to give them more and to overlook their offenses, no matter how numerous.

Republicans who talk this way apparently believe they can offend the millions of Americans against amnesty to garner a small portion of the amnesty crowd and to appease the Chamber of Commerce and the other groups who profit from illegal aliens.

Really. I wonder what Tony Baez would do for a living if there was no need for Centro Hispano and no government grants to pay the bills and give Mr Baez the notoriety that he craves. There can never be enough to satisfy people like Mr. Baez and who really is he to decide what his "charges" need?

Isn't this cute, Senior Biaz claims that the little puppy Rand Paul was elected with the help of billionaires. Every patriot knows that almost universally the billionaires are pushing for amnesty. Patriots do not allow this little piece of slime, Senior Biaz, get away with his fantasy that the billionaires who finance amnesty are against them. Don't allow the open borders' foot solders to spread the myth that they are the little guy fighting the conservatives who are the big shots. It is they who have the big money; we do not. We are the little people; they are the puppets of the mega rich; WE ARE THE PEOPLE. Never forget that, and never let them get away with their fairy tale that they are the underdog fighting for the little guy. WE ARE THE LITTLE GUY FIGHTING PITCHED BATTLES IN THE TRENCHES WITH NO HELP FROM ANYONE EXCEP FROM OURSELVES AND OUR OWN MEAGER RESOURCES. WE ARE THE REBBLES. THEY ARE THE ESTABLISHMENT.
