Reelz to Broadcast Miss USA, after NBC and Univision Dropped Trump

After NBC and Univision decided to not broadcast the Miss USA pageant following GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s comments on illegal immigration, Reelz has decided to broadcast the pageant on the scheduled date – July 12.

Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard released a statement Thursday saying the cable and satellite channel recently acquired the rights, adding that he thinks the women who compete in the pageant “are an integral part of American tradition.”

“As one of only a few independent networks, we decided to exercise our own voice and committed ourselves to bringing this pageant to American viewers everywhere,” Hubbard stated.

Performers, hosts and judges have dropped out, but the show will go on and new talent will fill those spots.

Trump has yet to comment on Reelz broadcast of the Miss USA pageant.
