(video may be viewed at the source link)

Sunday ABC’s “This Week,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said Mexico will not pay for President Donald Trump’s proposed wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Rubio said, “We met with the foreign minister and it did come up in our meeting. Let me just say, Mexico is not going to pay for the wall. By the way, America should, if we believe it’s in our national interests to do so but I do think there is a lot we can work on with Mexico. I think the Mexican government is open, for example, to renegotiating key points of NAFTA, on intellectual property as an example.”

Of course the Mexican government isn't going to cut us a check. However, there are ways to get the necessary money needed from them for the fence, wall, or whatever we're calling it these days.

I don't think anybody really imagined that when Trump said that Mexico is going to pay for The Wall that he meant that the Mexican government was going to pay for it voluntarily or that the Mexican government would even have anything directly to do with paying for The Wall.

I was never really excited by Trump's claim about Mexico paying for The Wall. Who cares who pays for it? Build it. If Trump thinks he can save some bucks by squeezing it out of Mexicans, more power to him, but we shouldn't sit around waiting for Mexican money to build it with.
