Ryan Praises Trump As High Energy, Says Border Wall Is ‘National Security Priority’
Posted By Alex Pfeiffer On 4:24 PM 01/27/2017 In | No Comments
WASHINGTON — House Speaker Paul Ryan had nothing but praise for President Donald Trump and his policies Friday, saying he has “endless energy” and that the border wall is a “national security priority.”
Speaker Ryan said during an interview with the authors of Politico Playbook that he has met with President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence more times in the past month than he met with former President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in eight years. The Politico journalists tried several times to get Speaker Ryan to criticize the Trump administration, and the Wisconsin Republican wouldn’t bite.
President Trump and Ryan did not know each other personally before Trump took office, and Ryan said he has gotten to know Trump as being “sincere” and “very capable.” He said the president is “convinced he can be transformative,” and “never stops working.” Speaker Ryan also added that he thinks Vice President Pence will be a very consequential vice president in his time in office. The two worked together in Congress when Pence was a representative.
On policy, Ryan echoed many of President Trump’s stated priorities. He said that ISIS terrorists are “trying to infiltrate the refugee population,” and that “border security, military, health care and tax reform are the things that cannot slip.”
The House Speaker spoke extensively about the border and Trump’s proposal to get Mexico to pay for it. He said the border “will be tended to quickly” as it is a “national security priority.” White House press secretary Sean Spicer brought up a tax on imports as a way to get Mexico to reimburse U.S. taxpayers for the wall during a press gaggle Thursday.
Ryan said that this tax, known as a border adjustment tax, would allow the U.S. to “get revenues in from Mexico to pay for something, such as a wall.” Ryan also repeated a sentiment of Trump’s and said that this tax on exports would mean “there is no reason to leave this country as a manufacturer, no reason to outsource.”
He added that there are a medley of options to get Mexico to pay, and that Trump’s border wall promise will be kept.

Wow. That's really great! This way, Trump can stop worrying about Mexico paying for it to get it done, and instead use it to re-negotiate/withdraw from NAFTA. It would be nice if Congress would go to work on the Mexico paying for the wall deal as part of the tax reform issue and perhaps other border adjustment issues like illegal immigration costs and clean that fish, so Trump can move on to other bigger fish to catch.

Great Affordable Medicines, too, of all kinds, that we should work on licensing agreements to introduce and use here or import when it doesn't compete with our companies.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Paul Ryan talks about the "endless energy" of President Trump. They have no idea what awaits them in the days and weeks ahead. They will be tired very quickly because President Trump is constantly working and he will demand results.
Congress has been careless and sloppy with our tax dollars. I hope the President demands that every department slim down and be made to run efficiently and ethically.Matthew 19:26

Yes, I'm sure he will. He wants to balance the budget but not at the risk of jobs, economy, infrastructure, government holdings or the military. If we get the economy to grow in production instead of population, the spending on welfare and non-retirement entitlements will drop like rocks, this is what Trump knows that it seems not too many in Congress have a clue about, and when Trump gets all these illegal aliens out of the country, the reductions will be huge.

I refer to " slim down" as to get rid of the waste as President Trump mentioned in the recent ABC interview. Rebuilding the military and other neglected areas will need increase in funds but there is no doubt a nightmare of waste to find and use for better purposes.

Oh yes, I understand, and he's already finding waste in the military programs. He'll get more for much less from the contractors. I was really impressed with the news today that he wants to expand hiring in the military. Like 58,000 that he named today, 28,000 in one branch and 30,000 in another. Our people are worn out, we need more personnel. There will probably be more that I didn't hear or that he'll announce later. I think all the branches are worn out and wearing thin.

I am all for expanding hiring in the military for Legal US Citizens as long as NO non-citizens are able to apply.
No illegal aliens and no non-citizens in our Military. They can go home and join their own Military.
This is a Government program...no aiding and abetting illegals aliens and they should not receive this benefit or privilege.
And do not deviate from the uniform...everyone wears the same uniform, no special considerations...it is a "condition" of the job and must be adhered to.ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM
