On Thursday, speaking at the John Podesta-founded Center for American Progress, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said that if it were not for the Tea Party, immigration reform would have passed long ago. He blamed Tea Party opposition to immigration reform on racism. "In a pre-tea party world, the Senate immigration bill would have been welcomed by House Republicans," Schumer stated. "However, the tea party rank and file know it's a different America. It looks different; it prays different; it works different. This is unsettling and angering to some."

Schumer added that discomfort with demographic change – racism – explained “why so many on the right vehemently opposed the Senate immigration bill, a bill that actually embodies many conservative, non-governmental principals: reducing our deficit by billions, growing our economy, creating jobs and spurring new entrepreneurial activity.”

Republicans in the House have not pushed forward the Senate’s immigration bill, arguing that it does little to secure the border while essentially granting amnesty to the 12 million illegal immigrants living within the United States.

Obama had a super majority in his 1st 2 years in office, so why didn't Obama , chuckie and company pass an immigration reform. answer ,because they hate Hispanics and they just want to use them as a wedge issue to try 2 win elections. How pathetic that the Socialists use human beings in this way.

I don't know about Obama and these Dem overlords but down on the streets of the real world there is some intense racial conflict between blacks and Latinos, despite the frenzied efforts of Democrat operatives to gin up a "united against the (white) enemy" mentality. That fueled the anti-white "affirmative action" policies but now that they are running out of white Holy Cows to sacrifice it's getting a little bit difficult (white children are only 20% of their age group in California now). Racial violence between these groups is routine in California but the corrupt media buries it--one rare exception being the item in the LA Times last Spring about the last black family on their block in Compton being run out--by Mexican gangsters. Of course there was NO notice paid to this by the Usual Suspects--the NAACP, California AG, nor the US DOJ, much less the entirety of the "news" networks--you can imagine what they would do with this story if they could stick it on white perps.
The left-wing power elitists are just plain sick. They are so insane for unlimited power that even outright racial terrorism doesn't count if the identities of the victims and perpetrators don't match their political objectives. The same week the media noids decided that Trayvon Martin was "the" story a few other things happened: a white teen was set on fire in Kansas City by blacks; a Mexican teen in Palmdale California was stomped and had his teeth kicked out by a gang of 7 black teens, who videoed the beating for fun and planned on posting in on the internet; the video was seized as evidence in the case. Did you hear of either of these cases? The media usually loves video, right?

If America would have to choose between Chuck Schumer or Thomas Jefferson for Leadership

I do believe the good citizens would see that Thomas Jefferson makes Schumer look like a mentally challenged fool in comparison and America would revert BACK TO Constitutional Government instead of Schumers New World Order

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), once part of the "Gang of Eight" in the Senate that wrote the immigration bill that the Congressional Budget Office determined would lower the wages of American workers, believes that conservatives are opposed to amnesty because they don't want America to become "less white."

"Yes, things have changed. White Anglo-Saxon men are not exclusively running the country anymore," he said Thursday. "President Obama lost the white male vote 35 to 62 percent yet he recaptured the presidency – by 5 million votes and a resounding electoral college margin."

Schumer said the changing demographics also "[explain] why so many on the right vehemently opposed the Senate immigration bill."

What Schumer did not mention is that the fiercest opponents to comprehensive immigration reform in Congress, like Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), and outside of Congress, like pro-enforcement advocate D.A. King, have repeatedly emphasized that one of their primary reasons for opposing amnesty is the devastating impact it would have on the wages of working-class Americans of all backgrounds, races, and ethnicities. Groups like The Black American Leadership Alliance, for instance, have held numerous marches and rallies in opposition to the amnesty legislation because of the detrimental impact it would have on wages, particularly among minorities.

Schumer also noted the strength of the Tea Party, saying that immigration reform legislation would have passed a long time ago if not for the Tea Party movement.
