Sen. Jeff Flake introduces act to increase Border Patrol manpower
BY KTAR.COM | December 6, 2016 @ 6:14 pm
PHOENIX — U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) introduced legislation Tuesday designed to boost the number of Border Patrol agents at United States ports of entry.
The Customs and Border Protection Hiring and Retention Act would eliminate some recruitment and agent retention obstacles, Flake said in a press release. The act would implement several ideas to keep Border Patrol agents on the job.
“Arizona can’t afford for its ports to go on strained and understaffed,” Flake said in the release. “By tackling CBP’s hiring problems head-on, this bill will help strengthen border security and facilitate the cross-border trade that is critical to Arizona’s economy.”
According to the release, the Border Patrol is about 1,000 agents short of congressionally-mandated staffing levels. The act would implement several ideas to keep agents on the job.
It would create a retention incentive program to encourage agents to stay on. Flake’s office said about 13 percent of agents leave the Border Patrol for other agencies or other roles within the Department of Homeland Security.
The act would also implement a two-year trial pay program that would offer a special salary to agents willing to work in more remote locations, create greater transparency in the hiring process top ensure the agency doesn’t waste its time with ineligible hires and eliminate some applicant concerns about a require polygraph test.
Under current law, applicants are required to pass the lie detector test to get hired. Should Flake’s act become law, the results of the polygraph test would not be revealed to other agencies.
The act was co-sponsored by U.S. Sen. Heide Heitkamp (D-N.D.), who introduced the Flexible HIRE Act in July, which was intended to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the federal hiring process.

So the new hires won't have to pass a polygraph test any more? Is that what he's saying? LOL!! So if you ask "do you presently work for the cartels" they can say no. That's a real Trojan Horse, Flake.
You can't trust any of these amnesty/legalization people. They're all SNAKES on the take with the cartels.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

What good does putting 1,000 agents on the border if they do NOT deport each and every one of them within 24 hours!
No more catch and release. End the failed refugee, asylum and illegal invasion of our Country.
They all lie, they have fake documents, we have NO idea who these people are. It is THEIR countries responsibility to take of their citizens and solve their own problems..not the USA taxpayers!ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM
DO NOT REWARD THEM - DEPORT THEM ALL
