    Immigration reform

The needs of the immigrant community brought the Ursulines to Louisville in 1858. We were immigrants, working with immigrants. Our mission today, rooted in the spirit and tradition of St. Angela Merici, calls us to a ministry undefined by socio-economic, racial, and/or national boundaries.

The leadership team of the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville stands today in solidarity with our immigrant brothers and sisters.

In accordance with the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops and the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, we support immigration legislation and reform that promotes and includes family reunification, a path to earned legalization, worker protections and an effective border policy that is humane rather than punitive.

The Leadership Team, Ursuline Sisters of Louisville
