'Superman' Producer Attacked in Mexico

(NewsCore) - Several days after he was reported missing, "Superman" producer Ilya Salkind was being treated in a hospital in Mexico after being "brutally attacked," his daughter told TMZ Friday.

Salkind was still recuperating from severe pain and suffered strike marks on his head after the attack, Anastasia Salkind told the entertainment website -- adding that she believes her father was kidnapped.

The 64-year-old was last seen Sunday leaving his estate in Mexico City, telling his staff he had to "handle some errands and get some dental work done."

When he had not returned by Tuesday, his friends filed a missing persons report with local authorities. He was located Thursday.

Salkind, who was the executive producer for "Superman" and two sequels, was in Mexico to take care of a property inheritance left to him by his late mother.

Though the article doesn't say it I'm thinking he paid a ransom.
