Suspected fugitive in murder arrested
February 16, 2006
For the second time in one week, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Oregon has arrested a Mexican citizen wanted for murder in Mexico.
Jose Moises Leon-Andrade, 45, was arrested at his job Tuesday in Tualatin and charged with the killing of his girlfriend in Michoacan, Mexico, in 2004. Leon-Andrade had been living in the Woodburn area, federal investigators said.
Leon-Andrade is being held in the Multnomah County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in federal court next week for an extradition hearing.
Jose Serratos-Ponce of Woodburn, who is suspected in a 1998 killing in Mexico, was arrested Feb. 7.
