St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office deputies on Friday found a female juvenile who had been reported missing in Houston. She was in the company of three men alleged to be in the country illegally, according to Sheriff Randy Smith's office.

A deputy stopped a red Honda Civic with a Texas license plate on Interstate 12 near Mandeville for traveling with its high beams on, according to a news release.

The deputy discovered that a female juvenile in the vehicle had been reported missing from Houston on Thursday. Also in the vehicle were three adult males who the Sheriff's Office said were in the country illegally from Guatemala.

The three men were taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol agents, while the girl was taken to the Sheriff’s Office in Covington. Arrangements were made for her to get back home.

No criminal charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation is still ongoing, Smith said in a statement.
