The Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general has affirmed what sheriffs, police chiefs, civil-rights lawyers and immigrant advocates have said for years: Outsourcing immigration enforcement to an ill-trained and poorly supervised assortment of state and local law enforcement agencies creates a lot of problems.

The program, commonly known as 287(g), deputizes local authorities as federal immigration agents so they can help Immigration and Customs Enforcement capture illegal immigrants who threaten the community or national security. A new report by the inspector general instead paints a portrait of 287(g) agencies as a motley posse of deputies who don’t know Spanish, who don’t know or care about the dangers of racial profiling and who operate well beyond the control of the federal agency that they are supposed to be working for.

It found the program lacks basic safeguards like data collection and reporting requirements to ensure that deputies don’t violate civil rights. The report also found that fewer than 10 percent of its sample of captured offenders had committed serious “Level 1â€

Nah I don't buy it. If we can afford another 150,000 IRS agents to enforce Obamacare, we can certainly enforce immigration laws. WHy don't we concentrate on that hmmm?? We;ve been waiting 24 years, so let's do it!

Uuuh, New York Times, the Sheriffs and Police Departments who sign up for the 287 (g) program don't work for the "federal agency". They work for the American People.

The United States is an English-speaking country, and we don't want to pay for and don't have to pay for police officers to speak foreign languages to accommodate illegal aliens.

And why would you or an inspector general make the statement that our posse of deputies "don't even speak Spanish" when they don't speak Chinese or Korean or French or Arabic or Herbrew or any other number of foreign languages? Aren't you racial profiling with such a statement implying that all illegal aliens speak Spanish?

Now, some may wonder why the New York Times would write such a ridiculous editorial. But I am not one of them, because I know who controls your newspaper now and his name is Carlos Slim, a Mexican national multi-billionaire of Lebanese descent who bailed out your owners with a major loan to keep your doors open, and he didn't do this out of the goodness of his heart.

If you think we all just fell off the turnip truck yesterday, please be advised, we did not. The only time you can fool an American is when we're not paying attention. Well, we're paying attention now.

Your newspaper has lost all credibility. You've allowed a bank loan from a foreign national to unduly influence your logic and your loyalty. May you rot in the gutter with all the other scum bag traitors using deception, lies, power and money to bankrupt our country.
