Town Lost 33% Of Population During Immigration Raid
Postville: Protest Coverage - Town Lost 33% Of Population During Immigration Raid [Pics]
By Digger
Some interesting notes in this news video below on Postville, Iowa. Rallies and protests occurred this Sunday in Postville, Iowa both for continued illegal activity and against it. Agriprocessors Inc., a "kosher" meat packing processor, claims that they lost 3/4 of their workforce during the raid and had to import homeless people from Texas to work in their plants after the raid. In addition in the video below you will see Mayor Robert Penrod state that the town lost 1/3 of its population during the raid. A third!
A great place to work?
If this is not a direct example of outright ignoring of the law and aiding and abetting of illegal immigration in a town-wide fashion I don't know what is. Postville was once a small town dominated by American workers. Since having an influx of investment from Hassidic Jews from New York and New Jersey, a good portion of those workers were replaced over the years as they brought in illegal labor for a lower wage. This illegal labor included kids as young as 13 who worked in the plants - in other words sweatshops. Remember this quote below as you read about the Postville rally because it is what those opposed to immigration enforcement are marching in favor of.
One, a Guatemalan named Elmer L. who said he was 16 when he started working on the plant’s killing floors, said he worked 17-hour shifts, six days a week. In an affidavit, he said he was constantly tired and did not have time to do anything but work and sleep. “I was very sad,â€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Postville is nothing more than a modern day company town:
Typically, a company town will be isolated from neighbors and centered (figuratively, if not literally) around a large production factory such as a lumber or steel mill or an automobile plant; and the citizens of the town will either work in the factory, work in one of the smaller businesses, or be a family member of someone who does. The company may also operate parks, host cultural events such as concerts, and so on. Needless to say, when the owning company cuts back or goes out of business, the economic effect on the company town is devastating, and often fatal.
Everything and everyone in that town is bought, sold, and exists around Agriprocessors, the owners of which just walked into this enclave and took the hell over where they could operate out of view of the public eye and scrutiny of the authorities.
Postville amounted to nothing more than one massive organized crime ring and everyone, from the city officials to the church, had something to financially gain from keeping the nasty little secret.
I can only imagine how many are not sleeping well at night wondering exactly how much the Feds know already or are afraid they might eventually find out.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I find it odd that the protesters were mostly from out of the area. They obviously couldn't come up with enough illegal alien supporters from Postville, I wonder why???
On the good side, the one third of the population that is gone were not the taxpaying kind. The taxpayers of Postville & Iowa will not have to pay to educate the children of these illegal aliens for much longer.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Town Lost
This just proves how HUGE the numbers of illegal workers really are in this country. If one raid clears out 1/3 of the town, think of all the gas and energy the US could save by conducting raids daily.
TEXAS would be a good place to have daily raids.........

They did the same thing in PWC and Waukegan as well. Brought 'em in by the busloads from other areas. I've even heard that they round up day laborers, give 'em a few bucks for their time, feed them, maybe toss some brews their way and they've got themselves a bunch of Rent-A-Ranters.
