EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Two illegal immigrants who shot a man outside a Springfield apartment in April were sentenced to years in prison this week.

Police say the shooting was motivated by jealousy over a woman; the victim survived.

Twenty-one-year-old David Gonzalez-Ramirez and 28-year-old Augusto Lopez-Perez both pleaded guilty.

Under a plea deal, Gonzalez-Ramirez was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison for first-degree assault.

Lopez-Perez was sentenced to five years in prison for unlawful use of a firearm.

Both men will be deported after they've served their prison terms.
