An 18-year-old Brownsville woman tried to bring a young Mexican boy across an international bridge this week, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection news release.
CBP says on Tuesday the woman was driving across the B&M International Bridge accompanied by an 11-year-old boy.
During a secondary inspection officers say they learned the boy was from Matamoros and had no legal documents to enter the United States.
The woman was arrested and her car was seized.
The boy was placed in the care of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Refugee Re-settlement.
