30 People Inside Stash House

A human smuggling operation was shut down by authorities this afternoon in Lopezville, a community located north of San Juan.

With the assistance of local police officers, u.s. Border patrol agents responded to a home near the 700 block of Church St. around 3 o’clock this afternoon.

A total of 28 people, believed to be in the country illegally– were found inside the stash house.

U.S. Border Patrol Spokesperson, Daniel Tirado tells FOX 2 NEWS, the immigrants were from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

Two alleged human smugglers were also taken into custody.
